Who are we?

Amigos de Cuba is a non-governmental, non-partisan, non-profit,  and an educational organization.
Since its foundation in 1993, Amigos de Cuba has served as educational vehicle and as a bridge of friendship and solidarity between Cuba and Canada.

We work in the following objectives:

Promoting and helping to promote cultural and professional exchange between Canada and Cuba;

Executing and participating in peaceful and humanitarian activities to promote the support to the Cuban people and their Revolution;

Seeking for or providing assistance for the social and economic sustenance of Cuba;

Participating in joint projects with Cuban organizations in activities to strengthen the sustainable development and self-sufficiency;

Informing the community on relevant issues related to Cuba;

Encouraging Canadians to support the Cuban people in upholding their national sovereignty, self-determination and social system without any foreign interference;

Upholding the United Nations declaration against the economic and financial Blockade against Cuba until it is lifted, as demanded by the international community.

Amigos de Cuba is the founder of the Volunteer work Brigades in the west of (pacific) Canada.

The objective of these human adventures is to learn about the Cuban reality, to exchange with that hospitable people and to show our friendship and solidarity.

The rich experiences of the volunteer work undertaken by young, children, and youngest at heart from different walks of life, gathered in international work brigades have demonstrated us that projects like these, should be continued implementing.

We also carry out, solidarity and educational activities on the Cuban reality through audiovisual presentations or public forums.

Although Amigos de Cuba is non-partisan, the only credential that requires our organization to become a member is: the respect to the international right of Cuba to choose its political and social system, as well as its right to its national sovereignty, without any foreign interference.

1959-2004, We salute the  45th anniversary of the Cuban Revolution!

The Revolution will not be televised
It is an award winning compelling documentary on Venezuela’s coup; reminding all of us how frail democratic rights and liberties are under the shadow of the U.S. Empire and the various privileged oligarchies profiting from its rule
